Liftoff is a network partner.

Module partners can use additional and extended data from adjust, and have been integrated with a custom module in adjust's backend. This guide describes how to activate the Liftoff module, as well as additional set up that may be required or beneficial.

To integrate Liftoff with adjust, follow these steps:

  1. Activate the module by flicking a switch in the Liftoff panel in your dashboard.
  2. Toggle the Session Forwarding switch to ON to start sending session callbacks to Liftoff.
  3. Optionally, add event labels to your in-app events in your Liftoff panel to send in-app events to Liftoff.
  4. Update your SDK to send certain partner parameters. This may be mandatory.
  5. Create a tracker for Liftoff, adding certain mandatory parameters, and use this as the destination of your ads.
  6. All set - adjust will transmit the requisite data to Liftoff.

1Activating the Liftoff module

All settings related to Liftoff can be found in your dashboard. Simply open your app settings and follow through to Partner Setup > Add Partners > Liftoff.

You can activate the Liftoff module simply by flicking the switch in your adjust dashboard. Liftoff will identify your app based on the bundle ID or store app ID that you've entered for your app.

Once activated, adjust will automatically start sending install, reattribution, uninstall, reinstall, reattribution-reinstall and (when activated) event and session callbacks to Liftoff.

If you would like to send attributed-only traffic to Liftoff, toggle the relevant switch – note that this toggle applies to all activities sent to Liftoff.

1.1Forwarding events & revenue to Liftoff

You can also choose to transmit in-app events to Liftoff. Each in-app event can be activated separately, so as to give you complete control of the data that you're sharing with your partners.

  1. Open the Liftoff panel in your app settings.
  2. Select Event Linking and enter a name for each event you want to transmit to Liftoff. This is the name that will be shown in their interface. You can use the same names as you do in adjust, if you wish.
If you want to transmit all events to Liftoff with the same names as you have set up in adjust, you can hit the "Fill all with event names" button.
You also have the option use the same name for multiple events. If you do decide on doing this, it will result in those events displaying as a single event type in the Liftoff interface.
  3. If you also want to send associated revenues to Liftoff, you can activate Revenue Forwarding by flicking the corresponding switch above to "ON". To forward revenues, you have to activate event forwarding for at least one of your revenue events.
  4. As soon as you save these updated settings, adjust will start transmitting the in-app events that you have configured.

1.2List of parameters transmitted to Liftoff

Liftoff require certain parameters to be passed to them via their module. When you activate their module, the following parameters will be automatically transmitted.

  • App metadata
  • IP addresses
  • Raw device IDs
  • Hashed device IDs
  • Country
  • Revenue data (if you activate it)
  • Impression Based flag
  • Organic flag
  • All partner parameters (if you activate them)
  • Timestamps
  • User landed on app Play Store page timestamp
  • App download began timestamp

2Creating tracker URLs for Liftoff

Liftoff requires certain tracker parameters. These tracker parameters must be appended in order for adjust to attribute your Liftoff traffic correctly, and for Liftoff to correctly interpret the data being sent back to them from adjust. Follow these steps to set up a tracker URL for Liftoff:

  1. Create a tracker in your adjust dashboard, naming it as you like, e.g. "Liftoff". The tracker URL will be created and added to your list of trackers.
  2. Copy the tracker URL using the "Copy URL" button on the right hand side, as you hover over your "Liftoff" tracker.
  3. In a text editor, paste the URL. Add one of the following strings to the end of the URL, depending on the platform.

  4. Copy the URL and use it as the destination of any Liftoff ads.
    Your URL should look something like:${IDFA}&liftoff_click_id=${TRACKING_TOKEN}

You can also optionally set an adjust Campaign Structure Parameter to one of Liftoff’s click macros: ${CREATIVE_NAME}, ${CREATIVE_SIZE}, ${CHANNEL_NAME}, and / or ${CAMPAIGN_NAME}. Additionally, you can use ${APP_ID} and ${APP_NAME} to receive app IDs or names, respectively, of the publisher app.

For more details on creating tracker URLs, please check out the tracker generation guide.

3Sending partner parameters to Liftoff

Liftoff allows you to send a set of predefined parameters. If you attach any of these parameters to an event in your adjust SDK, these will be forwarded to Liftoff. You can find out more about attaching partner parameters in the SDK readme specific to the SDK or SDKs you are working with. Below is a list of the defined parameters that Liftoff accepts:

Parameter key Value
product_id product or content identifier
product_type product type or cateogry
revenue item price
currency_code currency of item price

Apart from the partner parameters explained above, Liftoff module is set up to forward any of the partner parameters that are set in the SDK.
